5 Short Days: Chapter 4

Sooo, I thought of a title- 5 Short Days! Like it? Hate it? Love it? Let me know, cuz I'm not sure its the one. So um ya, Harry, Celeste, Here it is!!

Chapter 4: Harry
The first girl to come in was brunette, tall, and she looked mad! She stormed right in and demanded "Where is Louis Tomlinson?" It was brilliant! I think Louis was expecting a slightly more warm reception, but this bird was going to give him trouble and from the look on his face, he knew it! Ha! "I hope you know how much you have inconvenienced us! Probably not, you probably thing that it's a privilege for us to get to see you? Hmm?" She continued getting closer to him with each step. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Zayn and Niall practically double over with laughter. As the rest of the girls filed in, all with enormous back packs on, they seemed just as amused by their mate's performance as us. The smallest one tried to go up to her and calm her down, but she shot her one of the scariest looks I've ever seen from a girl. Man, these american girls! The rest of them seemed content to just let her run her course, so I sat back to enjoy the show! It wasn't often that a girl could make Louie squirm like she was. I smiled as I saw a mischievous look in the girl's eyes as she saw how much she was effecting him. Oh ya, this dame was definitely going to be the most difficult Louis had met in a while. I quickly counted the girls, only four. Oh, that could prove to be problematic. Then the door opened again and I caught my breath. Blue, blue eyes, blonde hair, thin body. But all of this, great as it was, isn't what caught my attention. I could tell she thought no one had noticed her yet because she seemed to take a steadying breath, and in that breath I saw some of the most breathtaking pain in her eyes. My heart squeezed, I wanted to look into those eyes forever to take away that insurmountable pain. She let out the breath and put on one of the most dazzling smile's I've seen. "Maddee!" She cried cheerfully, "Come on hun, this is the opportunity of a life time! Try not to make him wet himself!" She laughed a high tinkling laugh, and the girls joined her. Even the one terrorizing Louis paused, grumbled for a moment then gave into giggles that were completely different from what she had been yelling at Louis a moment ago, but she still glared at him. But what startled me was not the brunette's change of character, because you could still see her ever thought read across her face, but the blonde's. Had I imagined the pain? No, I couldn't and wouldn't invent something that heart wrenching. Even now as I listened to her laugh, there was an edge to it, faint but it was there. What terrible thing had happened to this girl to make her feel such pain? And why did she feel like she needed to hide it? Then and there I was determined to find out her secret and help her. My heart was in full agreement with this conclusion, and leaped with joy. But as I approached her that super annoying voice in my head whispered What if you don't want to know?

There won't always be a chapter from the boy's point of view, but I felt this one was necessary! Tell me what you thought!!

One Direction: Chapter 3

Okay, again sorry for the delay in getting up the next chapter, but here it is!

Chapter 3: Celeste
As we walked up the trail, up to the boys, the look on Maddee's face almost made me smile, almost. Not much made me smile anymore, but I was trying. The rest of us had figured out who she was talking to long before she did, and frankly I'm surprised it took her so long to figure it out. I guess she never was as much of a fan girl as the rest of us. Anna kept yammering on. " I knew it! I so knew it!" she said as she let out a high pitched giggle, "As soon as he said he'd radio Paul, I knew it!" I turned around to see her doing a little jig, or as much of a jig as she could with a giant backpack dwarfing her small frame. Emma came up behind her and slammed a hand down on her shoulder. "Anna, Shut up." she said and smiled as she walked up to walk next to me. "Gee, you'd think she was still 14, not 18!" Emma said leaning into me and knocking me with her shoulder. I leaned away a little, not ready for the easy camaraderie yet. Emma seemed to see that and gave me a sad smile to show she understood.  "I heard that!" yelled Anna from behind, where she was now torturing Kenzie with her foreknowledge of the boys we were going to go meet. I glanced up at Maddee again, and leaned over to Emma and whispered "Do you think she's freaked or pissed?" Emma looked up at our tall brunette friend, "Definitely freaked." Maddee turned around when she heard this, "I am so not freaked!" she said glaring at Emma, who just grinned cheekily back. "I am pissed that we are getting behind though! We are never going to make it to camp tonight!" she huffed and turned back around murmuring to herself about the stupidity of boys and hormones. But I knew what was going on through her head, she didn't need any more guys in her life, in fact she'd told me that she wanted to have her 19th birthday in the mountains specifically to get away from guys. So ya, she was freaked. Especially since she used to have a huge crush on the one and only Louis Tomlinson! That thought almost brought a wicked smile to my face, almost. I knew that even thought they were the boy band of my dreams, I wouldn't even notice now. I couldn't allow myself to notice. I decided then and there that I would not fall for any of One Direction.
We got the trailer and all stopped. Awkwardly we looked at each other, all thinking the same thing: Who goes in first? I expected Anna to jump at the opportunity, being the 1D die-hard among us, but she remained strangely quiet. Emma elbowed me in the side to get my attention, "I'm pretty sure she's freaking out." I turned to see what she was talking about, and saw Maddee staring at the door of the trailer. "Mads?" I asked her. "What did I do?" she whispered. "I screwed up again, I didn't even think, this is terrible, what was I thinking? Oh ya, I wasn't" She didn't take her eye's off of the the door the whole time she spoke. I knew it wasn't long until she shut down, not talking to anyone because of her insecurities. I turned to Kenzie, who knew her even better than I did and lifted my eyebrow in a question. She walked up to the other side of Maddee and looked at me "Keep her mad." she said. I smiled, that wasn't hard to do! "Maddee, these boys are keeping you from your perfect 19th birthday in the mountains with your best friends." Kenzie started out, she looked to me for support. "Louis pretty much ordered you to come here!" I said knowing she hates being told what to do, especially by boys. The thing that finally pushed her over though was Anna's comment. "I would do anything Louis told me to!" she said with a goofy grin on her face. "Thats IT!" Maddee exploded. "Just who does this Louis think he is? I'm gonna give him a pice of my mind!" She stormed towards the door, but just before knocking, she turned back to us, "Thank you," she said. Turning back to the door she knocked.
We waited for a moment before Emma suggested "Maybe you should knock again?" Maddee rolled her eyes and simply opened the door and stormed in. We all looked at each other and laughed. "Oh, she's back all right!" Kenzie said. Anna looked after Maddee "I just hope she'e not planning on hurting them!" The girls all laughed and followed Maddee into the trailer. I stayed back. Was I really ready for this? Thinking about it  a great hole began to eat at my chest. It kept getting bigger and bigger. No! I would not let it drag me down again! I'd been down that road before, so I pasted on the best smile I could and joined my friends in the trailer, ready for a change.

Soo very sorry about the delay!! Thank you for being so patient! The next chapter will be from Harry's point of view just cuz i want you to get his reaction to Celeste. It will be short though sorry! It shouldn't take as long though! Thank you for waiting and reading!! Leave comments and suggestions if you have any!

One Direction: Chapter 2

Okay, here is the second chapter, from Louis's point of view. Sorry it took me so long to get it up. Also, if you guys have any good title ideas leave them in a comment, cuz I hate not having a title!

Chapter 2: Louis
I got off the radio and looked behind me. Niall, Liam, and Zayn were still laughing at Paul tied up in his chair, and I cracked a smile. It was one of my best pranks yet, and I was surprised it went off so well. I noticed Harry staring at me. "Um, Louis, what did you just do man?" he said quirking up his eyebrow in question. At his question all the boys looked at me with the same question in their eyes, well except for Paul, he just glared at me. Gee, if looks could kill! But I understood where they were coming from. Just last week our car had almost been rolled over because of all the girls that had figured out it was ours! "Come on guys! There's just a couple of them!" I said grinning. "He just wants to see "the most difficult girl he'll ever meet!" Harry said wickedly. Niall laughed at that. In fact they all laughed at that, even Paul! "Aw, come off it!" I groaned. Liam stopped laughing first. "But now that they know we're here, the whole world will know!" We all stopped laughing, this was serious now. Niall pulled out his phone, "I'll check," He said looking down at the screen of his smart phone. We watched him as his eyebrows scrunched up in frustration. "I don't have any service, none whatsoever!" We all pulled out our phones and check ours. No one had service. "How did we not notice this before?" Zayn asked. "'Cuz we're kinda stupid." Liam said, "At least that takes care of the whole world knowing where we are!" We all breathed a sigh of relief, we were safe. Well, at least from the girls of the world. However, he had just invited some right to their front door, so to speak. "She didn't even know who I was, she's not a fan, just a normal girl!" I said "Come on, she's just a normal girl, the rest of them are probably normal too!" I could see the guys warming up to the idea of meeting non fangirls. To be honest it had been some time since we had. Someone knocked on the door to the trailer.  "They're here!" I said giddily. we all then started adjusting our clothes, Zayn ran to a mirror to check his hair, Niall grabbed his snap-back and shoved it on his head then took it off and combed through his hair then put it back on again. Harry kept running his finger nervously through his curly hair. Liam and I just stood there. "What just happened to our friends?" Liam looked over at me and caught me straitening my shirt. "Ha, we haven't been this nervous to meet girls in a long time!" We smiled at each other as the door opened.

Sorry its so short guys, I just have the hardest time writing from their point of view. So whenever there is a chapter from the boy's point of view it'll be kinda short! Next point of view is Celeste!

One Direction: Chapter 1

Okay, for people who are following me who are not Emma, Celeste, Kenzie, or Anna, this is a fanfic that I am writing for the afore mentioned girls about One Direction. So, enjoy, hate, or just don't read! Also, for the people who decide to  read this,  I have provided a sound track to read it by. This is what I listen to while I'm writing, so go ahead, press play and start reading! :)

Chapter 1: Maddee
I couldn't help but smile at the the trees as we hiked up into the trees, this was going to be the perfect  birthday. Away from the city, school, parents, boys! The past month I had seen enough drama to last me a life time, an already I could feel the soundtrack of the forest soothing my frayed nerves as only natural music can. I turned to smile back at my girls. Celeste, blonde, thin and gorgeous even with out makeup that i had banned for this trip, was right behind me. She wasn't even struggling underneath her large backpack packed with only the essentials for five days in the mountains. But her shoulders drooped with the weight of something even heavier. I instantly became even more grateful for this trip, it would be just as good for her as it was for me. Behind her was the carrot top of Emma. I could practically see her bouncing with excitement, her heavy pack the only thing keeping her on the ground. I knew that the only reason that I was in the lead was because I knew the way. I smiled at that thought and looked past her to see Kenzie kneeling on the side of the path picking up what I think is a wild onion, probably for her dinner tonight. Then, lagging a little behind, was Anna. Her wispy brown hair whipping around her oval face, framing her deep brown eyes. I hope she does well on this trip, its not really her scene. I turned back to face the forest, and the week, and the adventure! "Shoot!" the screech came from the back of the group, Anna. I sighed and yelled over my shoulder "What is it?"
"I have no service!"
I looked behind me to see her jumping up and down waving her expensive cell phone around in the air.  I ran up to her and grabbed her hand before she could damage the phone, or anything else. "Anna, hon, I told you not to bring your phone! It's completely useless out here, especially with at&t!" I said rolling my eyes. I gave her back her phone and dug the map out of my pocket. "Well, where are we?" Emma said leaning over my shoulder, looking at the map. I found our position and frowned, "Not nearly far enough." I said turning towards the girls "We need to pick up the pace, kay? I promise as soon as we get there there's a a small lake that we can swim in and wash off a little." At the mention of the lake they all visibly perked up, I smiled too. A swim sounded amazing right now, the humid washington air making everything so muggy and thick. I was glad I had decided to wear my short shorts. I had debated  wearing them, but i figured there wouldn't be any guys there so there really was nothing to worry about, and I was really appreciating that decision now.
We all started back up the trail with renewed vigor. Even Celeste seemed to have a less hopeless air about her. I knew that this would help her, maybe not cure her of her hurts, but definitely help. Much more than staying in a cooped up city full of memories. I was so occupied with my thoughts I almost missed the giant roadblock (trail block?) with two of the most stereotypical body guards, um, well guarding it! I mean these guys were huge! The juggernauts of all body guards. I heard Anna give a little  eep of shock as she saw them, and heard Kenzie trip over her feet into Emma. We sat there for a moment, both parties sizing up the other. Then one of the guards stepped forward and cleared his throat, "Um, I have to ask you to leave the vicinity" he said, and then folded his arms to make him appear larger. I stood there, just stood there. What the crap where they doing here? They belonged in the city! This was the kind of controlling I was trying to get away from, if at least for a week! I stood up straighter than before and stepped forward. "Why?" I heard Celeste gasp a little as I said it, and I toned down the cheekyness a little, I just a little ruffled to find them in my self appointed santuary. So I continued calmly "This is a trail owned by the state of Washington, and unless you are a ranger who is employed by the state, then you have no jurisdiction to tell us that we need to leave." I smiled as sweetly as I could because he looked so confused and frustrated i was afraid he would hit me! "If you just let us through, we only want to continue on the trail. Or you could take us to a higher authority and have him explain the situation."  I folded my arms, mimicking his stance. He looked back at the other guard, "Go ahead and radio Paul, he should know what to do."  Anna gasped a little at the name, I looked over my shoulder at her, and she just shrugged it off. "It can't possible be who I think it is, don't worry about it." The other guard reached for his radio and said into the little black box, "Paul, we have some girls out here who refuse to leave. What should we do?" A crackling voice answered "What?! Girls?! How the crap do they keep finding us? Send them away, Do what ever you have to, no fan girls  today, I promised them." By this point I was thoroughly confused. Fan girls? Finding them? Who exactly was on this trail? Johnny Depp? A Hemsworth brother? I looked around at the girls, they seemed just as confused, except for Anna,  she had gone white and her hands were shaking.  Seeing our reactions the guard responded to Paul. "Um, I don't think they are fan girls, they just want to keep going on the trail. It is a popular backpacking trail, and they are all packed up for what looks about five days."  I looked at him appraisingly, impressive guessing the days like that! I wonder if he was a backpacker, and if he had ever done this trail before. He clicked off, and waited for Paul's reply. "I don't care if they ar....." he trailed off as their was a commotion on the other side off the line. Body guard 2 tried to contact them, but the line was still open. It sounded like Paul was being attacked! Then the other line went quiet and a smooth voice came over the other end, thick with laughter and a british accent. "Sorry about that! This is Louis Tomlinson, and Paul is currently out of commission!" He broke down in laughter, and I heard more laughter in the background along with Paul yelling at them to "Get him out of this chair right now, or so help him he would cancel the music video then and there"  The laughing faded away and Louis came back on, "Sorry again, who am I speaking to?" and he clicked off. Instinctively I lunged forward and grabbed the radio. "This is one of the most difficult girls you will ever meet Louis, I am a backpacker and your apes here won't let my friends and me continue on the trail, and I would appreciate it if I could talk to someone in charge, thank you!" Ok, so it was a little snippy, but we were wasting time! We wouldn't make it to camp if we took much longer! The radio crackled in my hand, "You don't know who I am do you?" he said sounding incredulous. I was about to respond with a biting remark about how conceded he sounded, then I thought about it. Louis Tomlinson, it sounded familiar. I looked behind me at the completely shocked faces of my friends. Oh. My. Gosh. Crap. I decided to go along with the not knowing who he was. "Why should I? Are you in charge or something?"
"I guess you could say that" I could almost picture a cheeky grin on his face as he said it. "Well why don't you let us through, and we will be out of your hair!" I said. "I don't think so, you are going to come to me and we are going to have a little chat." I heard Anna squeak behind me. Great, this was just so fantastic I could hardly help but roll my eyes as the guards ushered us behind the trail block onto the trail behind it.

Okay, so there's the first chapter! I hope you liked it and are happy with how I portrayed you if you are in it! While you're waiting for the next chapter (which will be from Louis point of view, spoilers!:) you can read the rest of the stuff on my blog, its just a story, a few essays, and the beginning of another story, Enjoy!

Focus Tips!

Today I had to watch general conference with my family. Usually I enjoy this opportunity, but today I found myself unfathomably bored! Of course, there were some moments where I was truly intrigued, but for the most part I found myself wishing I could be somewhere else. I was stuck. I knew that this was important not only to me, but to my parents as well. I, being the eldest, need to set an example to my younger siblings. Sure I have lots of practice with boring lectures, I have them in school all the time. But this was important to me and I needed away to sustain my attention so that I could gather at least a few lessons from eight hours of conference. So, I came up with a few tips for myself on staying focused when bored out of your mind. Weather in school or in church.

Tip #1: Write stuff down- Even though you're bored, there has to be a few phrases or ideas that catch your attention. Write them down. Then, as the talk goes on, you can find things that tie to that phrase or idea. You could even carry that phrase or idea over to the next talk and listen intently to that one to see if it has any similarities.

Tip #2: Look for Humor-Most speakers try to put at least a little humor into their talks or lectures to help people pay attention. Some, unfortunately,  do not. For example, I have a teacher at school who, if he were reading out of the textbook it would probably be more entertaining, and I would most likely learn more. More often than not I find myself falling asleep in his class, so to help me focus, I look for unintentional humor. He may have a slip of the tongue and say something that he did not mean, or maybe something he says sounds like something else. It is easy to find these little humors if you are listening, and then, well your listening. One piece of advice I would give with this tip though, is that you might not want to laugh out loud! :)

Tip #3: See if They Use Anything You Had Previous Knowledge of- This is a tip I use frequently during school. Although they seem diverse, a lot of the subjects they teach us during school all connect in one way or another. Math and Science of course, but also Math and English. Even English and a foreign language you may be taking. Looking for, and finding these similarities can hold your attention for hours on end no matter how the teacher's voice may drone on and on!

These are just a few tips I use to keep myself awake during school or during any other boring lecture I need to listen to. Granted that it does take work to pay attention, I hope these tips will help you as they have helped me. Of course, you could always just sleep through everything, but where's the fun in that?

Blog Post #20: Moon Spell

Continuation of Blog Post #19

Aden stared at the moon as it rose over the city skyline, and as the moonlight hit him something strange happened. Haley blinked repeatedly. No, it couldn't be real! But there it was she saw it with her own eyes. The moonlight was gathering around Aden and sparkling as it turned from light to a dust that clung to him like a magnet. He stared at the dust with a look of longing lingering on his face. He ran his fingers through what remained in the air and made patterns. Glittering, beautiful, out of this world designs in midair with this moonlight turned glitter. Haley watch this with a look of awe on her face, and sunk to the ground. She knew it, she had gone completely off the deep end with this one! Here she was hallucinating in an alley that a boy from her school was taking moonlight and turning it into some kind of... pixie dust? Haley laughed at the incredulous notion, what did it matter? It was just a hallucination. But her laugh had drawn his attention. He seemed confused for a moment and looked at her with no recognition in his eyes. He peered at her for several more seconds as the dust continued to swirl and collect around him. Finally he opened his mouth and said, "Haley?" But his voice was different. It was deeper and had more sustenance, and had and unearthly ring to it that echoed in her ears. It was beautiful. That is when she decided that this was not really Aden Moonsinger, she must have slipped in one of the many disgusting puddles that were numerous around here, and hit her head and she was having a most wonderful dream in which a  boy from her school was much more than what he seemed. She was so sure of this that she nodded at him and stood up. When she confirmed that she was in fact Haley, Aden grew panicked. "Crap!" he said not quite looking at her. She stepped forward. "What's wrong?" she asked. She had a sudden desire to touch the swirling, glittering dust. Aden backed away, "You weren't supposed to stay conscious, how can you look at it and still be awake?" Haley laughed, "I'm not!" she said "This is all a dream, how else could any of this be possible?" She grew nervous at the look he gave her. But it had to be a dream because the only alternative was, NO, she was not crazy! Was she? Haley began to second guess herself and each breath became more and more panicked. "Haley," someone was calling her name from far away she focused on that to bring her from the edge of a mental meltdown. "Haley, you need to calm down." It was Aden, he was still standing there surrounded by moon dust. Seeing the moon dust only caused her to become more distraught. "I'm sorry Haley," Aden said as he started to cup some of the dust into his hand "But maybe this might help you calm down" He brought the hand with the dust to his mouth and blew. Haley couln't let that dust touch her, because what if it was real? Would that make her crazy? She decided she didn't want to find out and lunged to the side to avoid it touching her, but in the darkness of the alley, the wall was much closer than it appeared. Haley heard a crack and went down on the pavement. She laid there for a moment until a white hot nail of pain drove itself into her temple. The pain turned her whole world white, then black and she was gone.

Blog Post #19: What to do now...

This is a story I started some time ago that I thought I would revise so I could take it to a writer's conference.

Haley sat outside the school waiting for him. Aden had been in there for hours, and it was starting to get dark. She shouldn't bee here. She got up and started to walk home. When she turned the corner she saw him there in front of her. Impossible! Haley opened her mouth to yell at him, but stopped. Something in her wanted to follow him. So she stayed a couple of steps behind him the whole way through town and into a part of town that made her uncomfortable. Dark alleys lined these streets and the old buildings were covered with graffiti. When she thought she saw someone lurking in the alley she had just passed she turned to yell for Aden, but he was gone. She saw the edge of his foot disappear down an alley. Haley ran for the alley and was met with a high wall of a dead end. She turned around looking for another way out. Oh no! Was she seeing things again? Did Aden even come down here? Or was he an apperation. No, he was the whole reason she had started seeing things and she was going to find him and some answers. Haley crept forward and started feeling the wall, maybe there was a secret passage? "Why did you follow me Haley?" A low voice said from the mouth of the alley. Haley gasped and turned around to face Aden. "I need to talk to you." Haley said as she walked towards him. "About what happened the other day." "I told you not to ask!" he growled. Haley stopped advancing, she had never seen him this nervous. He kept looking behind his back and checking his watch and glaring at her. "How could I not ask Aden? I've been losing my mind! I saw you glow for Pete's sake!" Haley could feel herself losing it, and she took a few calming breaths. "I just need you to tell me I'm not crazy please!" She said softer. Aden looked at her for a moment, his face softening, "Did you say you saw me glow?" he asked. Haley nodded her head. "Are you sure that what you saw? I mean, we were watching a slide show, maybe you just saw it reflect off of something and it made it look like I was glowing." His voice was softer now, and Haley could see now how she had been mistaken. Of course he hadn't been glowing! She had just let her apprehensions about him cloud her better judgement. In fact, she now felt stupid and stalkerish. At least he wasn't making fun of her like most boys would. "Oh gosh Aden! I'm so sorry I must have sounded like a complete crazy person. I have no idea what got into me!" Haley said apologetically. "Yeah, yeah no problem." Aden said distractedly. He was looking over his shoulder more often now and checking his watch more frequently. "You really should go home." he said grabbing her arm "Like, right now!" Haley drew back. No matter how cute, she did not like boys manhandling her! And the sooner Aden learned that lesson the better. "I will, but I don't need you to drag me there." Haley said as she tried to pull her arm away from him, but it was impossible. If anything his grip seemed to be getting stronger by the second. "Aw, crap!" Aden said. "What?" Haley asked. Aden turned to her with a pleading look in his eyes. "I'm sorry, but please don't freak out." He pleaded as the moon rose over the horizon.
